Research- The Els Center of Excellence plans an extensive applied research program
Professional and Medical Services- The Els Center of Excellence plans 10,000 square feet of professional and medical services on site to provide additional services for students and the community. One of the most taxing issues for families is the amount of time spent driving to various service providers.
Adult living and job training- It is increasingly clear that one of the biggest issues faced by children on the spectrum and their families is an adult lifestyle that includes independent living and a job. An estimated 88% of adults with ASD cannot support themselves. The Els Center of Excellence plans to have adult living with actual stores or store replicas to provide job training. The Center will work with the community to place graduates of the Center.
